What Techniques Does Compress Use?
While we use a wide variety of techniques tailored to YOU as an individual, the core techniques of our system are Recovery Compression Boots, Electronic Muscle Stimulation (EMS), Soft-Tissue Release and Post-Exercise Nutrition.
Recovery Compression Boots
Using pneumatic compression has been clinically proven to help remove metabolic waste such as lactic acid and speed post-exercise recovery by increasing venous return. Simply put, it accelerates your body's own means of recovery. Not only is it effective but it feels great.
Electronic Muscle Stimulation (EMS)
EMS has been shown to improve muscle strength, density, ans size. It speeds muscle recovery and help reduce soreness. EMS is a client favorite for how it feels while it's on and for how much better sore muscles feel afterwards.
At Compress, we use the Tim Tam Power Massage to release and overly tight, restricted or sore muscles. The Tim Tam sets itself apart from other massage tools because it is able to reach a greater amplitude and thus get better depth into the muscle. It's definitely a good hurt.
Nutrition is one of the easiest yet most neglected forms of recovery. We have volumes of research dictating what we should consume and when we should consume but it's rarely followed. At Compress, we use a blend of branch-chain amino acids, glutamine, protein and carbohydrates to help properly refuel our athletes. We also offer specific nutritional guidance with meal planning and tracking.
